Madeline Poole’s Stella-McCartney Inspired Take on a Minimal Mani



Backstage at Stella McCartney in Paris, I was psyched to spot one of the chicest, most creative manicurists I know: the lovely Madeline Poole (who was also just named one of our 35 beauty superstars under age 35—check it out). The catch: Stella’s nails are always sheer and nude; that’s her thing. So what was Madeline doing here? Well, painting nails sheer and nude (with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Almost Almond). But this woman loves a great nail design and—feeling inspiration strike upon seeing Stella’s gorgeous silhouettes and opulent fabrics for fall—rushed back to her hotel post-show to get working. The result: an asymmetrical negative-space mani based on her favorite look, below. “I love that the shoulder detail combines both a curved shape on the one side and a geometric sharp shape on the other,” she explains. Nice choice, Madeline!
