Cheryl Shops: Get the look: trench coat and cropped jeans

Whew, it’s been a week! Mercury is in retrograde, temperatures here have been in the 80s, and I have work coming out of my ears (which I know I shouldn’t complain about). Anyway, happy Friday! Let’s ease into the weekend with this month’s most-pinned look from my Outfit ideas for ageless style Pinterest board—it’s casual, it’s timeless, it’s seasonless, it’s perfect. You probably own all the pieces to re-create this look already, but if not, read on. What I love about the trench coat that this woman is wearing is that it’s a midcalf length. So many trenches hit at the knee, which means your lower legs still get soaked when it’s raining. I like a longer-proportioned coat in general (I think they’re more elongating), and this Michael Kors trench coat does the trick at a reasonable price. Again, you probably already own a white tee, but if you need a refresh, you can’t go wrong with a classic like this Everlane organic cotton tee, a very affordable $18, especially considering it’s organic cotton. I have pretty much been living in straight-leg cropped jeans this year (with just a hint of stretch!) and these Levi’s 501 crop jeans are my current obsession. They have a flattering high waist, a low-key light wash, and a narrow but not-tight leg, plus the price is right. I am generally not a fan of dad sneakers, but hers look a little more streamlined, and I think the all-white construction helps. I’d actually wear these Aetrex Carly sneakers, which look extra comfy but not too dorky. Of course, every perfect weekend look requires a pair of shades, and these Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses are just so classic and cool. I have a similar pair that’s on repeat—they’re lightweight and the shape is perfectly proportioned.
