Cheryl Shops: What to wear in Paris in March

I went to London and Paris last week for my birthday, a trip I’d been planning for months. And while no one expects a global pandemic, it was a bit bizarre to be so far away from home while all of the latest Coronavirus developments were unfolding. That said, it felt like business as usual in both cities (which have been pretty unaffected thus far), which was reassuring; we were able to enjoy our vacation, albeit with a little more hand-washing than usual (although that’s never a bad thing, especially while traveling). I’ll be posting my travel diaries over the next few weeks, but in the meantime, here’s what I wore in Paris. Day 1 There was rain in the forecast every day of our trip, so in terms of outerwear, I was more focused on waterproofness versus warmth. In retrospect, I wish I would have brought a waterproof packable down coat, but hindsight is 20/20, as they say. This Everlane trench definitely kept me dry, however I needed to layer like crazy to stay warm. I wore a blazer, T-shirt, and long-sleeved T-shirt underneath (which you can’t see in any of these photos) and probably could have used one more layer. Thankfully, there are a gazillion cafés, shops, and museums to pop into when you need to warm up, so that’s what we did. I know a fur vest with a snakeskin-print skirt kind of seems like overkill, but I channeled my inner Francoise Hardy and went with the boho-folk-singer feel of it all. When in Paris, anything goes—even high-top Vans with a silk skirt.
